As the summer winds down, and a new school year begins, we would like to take the opportunity to update everyone on the latest with Clockwork.

Counselling

As we go into the 2025/26 school year, we still have five contracted counsellors going into Oxted School, providing a total of twenty seven one-to-one counselling sessions for pupils each week. The counselling system continues to attract extremely positive feedback from students, parents and school staff, and the ongoing success of the programme is a testament to the efforts of all the counsellors and the Oxted School Student Wellbeing Team.

Outside of Oxted School, we are now offering one-to-one counselling sessions in the new Master Park Hub building, with sessions available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Trustees of Master Park who have not charged us for using the Hub, which has made it possible for us to provide increased counselling availability on multiple days.

Sessions are free of charge to the user and are available to young people aged up to 24 in the Oxted area. If you would like to request a counselling referral then please email support@clockwork.org.uk

A Big Thank You to Our Supporters

There are significant costs related to providing such services. While counselling is provided free to the recipient, we pay our counsellors an agreed commercial rate for the services they provide. Therefore, our ability to continue to provide these services is primarily reliant on the generosity of our supporters, so our deepest thanks if you have given to Clockwork, whether that is directly or by supporting someone raising money on Clockwork’s behalf.

We would like to give a very special mention and thank you to the NFU Mutual Surrey branch – based in Oxted – who chose Clockwork to be the beneficiaries of their share of the NFU Mutual Agency’s National Giving Fund. This resulted in an incredible donation of £7,899. This will be directly used to fund our new counselling venture at the Master Park Hub for the coming year, so thank you NFU Mutual, especially everyone working at the Oxted branch!

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Oxted United Reformed Church, which continues to make significant financial contributions to Clockwork’s operating costs. We are very grateful that the Legacy Team at the URC has been so consistent and generous in their support, which have been pivotal in funding our Oxted School counselling provision.

A big shout out to Phil Vowles, who undertook another gruelling triathlon in July. while raising money for Clockwork. The Alpe d’Huez Triathlon is an extreme, mountainous triathlon in the French Alps featuring a 2.2km swim, a 118km bike ride and a 20km run at altitude! There is still time to donate to Phil’s JustGiving at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kelly-doughty-707

Our thanks to all of the following for their incredible fundraising efforts for and/or donations to Clockwork in the past year: Warlingham & District Horse Club; Mels Yoga and Lime Yoga who chose Clockwork to benefit from their charity yoga event; Marshall Wace; Flower Farm; Titsey Rotary Club; The Hare & Hounds in Godstone, who raised money for Clockwork at their charity quiz night; Oxted School, who once again chose Clockwork as a beneficiary of Sixth Form Rag Week.

Also, a special thanks to all those who have recurring direct debit donations to Clockwork set up through our Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) page. Your ongoing support is very much appreciated. To donate through CAF, either as a one-off or more regularly, please visit https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/14091#!/DonationDetails

And thanks again to anyone who has Clockwork as their nominated local charity as part of the Tandridge Together Lottery. It’s very quick and easy to sign up (at tandridgelottery.co.uk).  Each ticket costs £1 per week, with a maximum weekly prize of £25,000. For each ticket sold, 50p goes to your chosen good cause, and an extra 10p to other good causes in the community.
